WOD(s): Body Beast Build Shoulders
Food: I was ON POINT today! I really wanted to have a Clif Bar in the evening, but it was something I wanted, not needed, and I would only be “hungry” for an hour or two before bed. So I said no, and was so proud of myself.
Thoughts: Today was the first day of a challenge group I’m in, so my determination was obviously stronger than normal. I’m sure it’ll dwindle a bit, though I wish it wouldn’t. It seems right around a couple of weeks is when I “treat” myself and then it’s just completely downhill from there, so these next few days will be hard. Keeping my fingers crossed…

WOD(s): Body Beast Build Chest & Tris
Food: I made two good choices at Panera for lunch with a friend, and one bad one–I got the big chocolate chip cookie. I let Madi have some of it, but hardly enough to count. Just gotta behave the rest of the night…
Thoughts: Just like earlier this week, I was tired and didn’t feel like working out. So I didn’t put it off for too long, because I knew if I did that, then I wouldn’t get off my ass later to do it. Plus, Nick usually works out in the evening after Madi goes to bed (around 7p), but I never know when exactly. Well, usually, he puts it off too long and doesn’t end up doing it at all, if we’re being completely honest. Regardless, I’ve got it done. I really should get back into the first-thing-in-the-morning routine. It only got disrupted when Madi kept waking up every night so I was tired in the morning and wanted to catch up on the sleep I’d missed.

WOD(s): Nothing 🙂 Today was my rest day, according to the Body Beast schedule. So I didn’t do anything.
Food: I ate more than I should’ve, but nothing very bad. Same stuff as the last few days, I just shouldn’t have eaten as much since I didn’t work out. Oh well…
Thoughts: I didn’t feel bad at all about taking my rest day truly as a rest day. Truth be told, I was quite busy most of the day. If I had needed to workout, I could’ve managed. But since I didn’t need to, I didn’t bother trying to squeeze anything in. And I don’t feel bad about that at all. Rest days are there for a reason!

WOD(s): Body Beast Build Shoulders
Food: I think my meals will be a little off today because I had a snack at lunchtime and a snack after my workout. But I think it’ll last me until dinner time.
Thoughts: Glad I got my workout done when I did because, by the time I finished it, Madi had woken from her nap 2 hours early 😬 Glad tomorrow is a rest day. Whether I choose to rest or not is to be seen.

She was trying so hard to lift this 5 pounds

WOD(s): Body Beast Cardio & Abs
Food: This should get interesting. It’s only 2p and I’m craving anything chocolate. Luckily we don’t have much of it in the house, but I think I’m gonna make my chocolate granola to eat this evening as a snack before bed.
Thoughts: Madi was bugging me the whole time I worked out, since I did it in the living room where she was playing. She didn’t like my ignoring her, I guess. But I got it done regardless–I got her interested in her new sensory bin for the last half. By the way, I hate plank stuff–nothing makes me feel weaker 😦

Here's my the-second-I-even-thought-of-making-an-excuse-to-not-work-out-I-made-myself-get-up-and-get-it-done face.

WOD(s): Body Beast Build Back & Bis
Food: So far, I’ve had Lucky Charms for breakfast (again) and three Hershey kisses, but everything else is good, I think……I ended up eating more kisses, but I’m under my calories and age my the servings of veggies.
Thoughts: I had plenty of excuses to not work out today. They were not even that excusable: my chest hurts from Friday, my legs hurt from yesterday, and, between my head cold and my period, I’m exhausted and headache-y. But the second I started thinking about using any one of these pathetic excuses for real, I made myself get up and do it. Nick asked what I was doing and I told him I was working it. He asked why. I told him because I am tired. And he asked why I was working out then. To which I replied that I was working out now because I’d still be tired later and wouldn’t end up doing it then. That’s how our minds are different–he embraces the excuse, no joke.
And I’m not surprised that after my workout, my headache is actually gone. Thank you, endorphins! 😀

imageWOD(s): cleaning the entire goddamn house for 4-5 hours; Body Beast Build Legs
Food: We had friends over for dinner, so I indulged a little on garlic bread and a slutty brownie and an (honestly!) very small helping of some Ben & Jerry’s. Had my strawberry Shakeo while I made lasagna for dinner.
Thoughts: I barely made it to Body Beast today. After running errands around town this morning and cleaning the whole house (which wouldn’t have taken so long, but we put the Christmas stuff away), I honestly had less than an hour to do Body Beast and jump in the shower, because we had friends over for dinner. On top of all that, my head cold is finally starting to go away, but I had a headache half the day. I’m super proud of myself for finding the 40 minutes to do Legs and jump in the shower while the water on the stove came to a boil so I could make some lasagna 🙂 I don’t know if this happened the first time I tried Body Beast a few months ago, but I can’t recall it at all, so I think it’s safe to say this is the first time Leg Day has actually made my legs wobbly before I finished the workout. Oh sure, my legs have been sore plenty of days following Leg Days. But during the workout, not so much. I’d like to think it was because my form was better–which it was, although far from perfect–and the weight was heavier–which it was, even if just by a few pounds. The hardest part about Leg Day for me is the lunges. I can squat and calf-raise all day. But the lunges are hard because my knees are crap. They would be better if my quads were stronger, but it’s hard to get my quads stronger because the knees are so weak–vicious cycle!! Anywho, the workout went great, even if I didn’t get a couple of moves in.

PS–I think I’m going to keep doing my “crappy” pictures. I know it makes everything look a little crappy. But they’re the real pictures with no cropping or filtering–this is real life people! Well, that and the fact that I really don’t care that much about what you think of my pictures. It’s hardly gonna be worth my time–even just a few minutes–to crop and filter and make it look all nice for probably no one to look at.
