For the past few years, I’ve really been loving ice cream. I hadn’t really liked it all that much before, but it became a weekly purchase for me. (I blame the fact I could get it drive-thru style as to why I got it so much 🙂 ) Anyways, last week I tried the Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream and it was pretty sub-par as far as an ice cream substitute goes. I saw this recipe on Pinterest for a frozen berry yogurt that I just knew couldn’t be bad. And I was right!
This is so simple and easy to make!! And it is healthy, just look at the ingredients.
—500 g frozen berries (my bag was blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries, but I added in some strawberries for good measure)
—500 g natural yogurt (I used vanilla)
—couple tablespoons of honey
—fresh berries of any kind, to use as garnish (optional)
All you need to do is put the yogurt and honey in a food processor and mix it together. Then add the berries to the mix and blend again. I did this with a blender, because we don’t have a food processor. It is more time-consuming with a blender because the blade just sort of throws the ingredients away from it. Just make sure to push the berries to the bottom of the yogurt if using a blender so it chops them up. (You’ll have to so that a few times, FYI.) Regardless of how you make it, it tastes phenomenal 😀 I might just try this with another frozen fruit mix I’ve seen–peaches, cherries, and strawberries.
